Applied Communication Theory (ACT) Group was created
in 2004 and performs research on theoretical and applied
aspects of medium/long term communication systems, both
terrestrial and satellite.
ACT
belongs to the European
Satellite Communications Network of Excellence (SatNEx).
Focus topics include system-level studies, cross-layer
design and network optimization. |

RCS#46 Meeting at UAB on 10-11 December 2007
UAB is honoured to host next RCS#46 meeting. First published in 2000, DVB-RCS is a technical standard that defines a complete air interface specification for two-way satellite broadband VSAT systems. DVB-RCS working group meets regularly and is targeting the end of 2007 for a revised release of the standard. This new release will address the emerging market for provision of broadband services of the nature handled by DVB-RCS to mobile terminals.
